The Pouf Questionnaire

Bruno BondBruno Bond appeared on the gay XXX horizon a year ago with the force of a diver's air bubbles making their way relentlessly to the surface. In that time he has gone from private citizen to performer to art director to videographer to director, each time adding a new "hat" without abandoning any of the former. For a guy who's over 40, that's pretty astonishing.

Bond has made films for Hot House, Falcon and Raging Stallion, where he is currently an exclusive model. Bond and his business and life partner, Steve Cruz (Hard Choice Award winner for Best Newcomer 2007 and Best New Director 2008) have now launched their own website, HardFriction.com. His personal website is www.brunobond.com.

What's the best thing about your penis?
The many hours of pleasure it gives me. I am always happy when my cock is hard.

What was your personal path to performing in porn?
I met Steve Cruz through MySpace. We spent about six months corresponding before he cast me in my first scene. He directed me in Red Light for Mustang then we had a scene together three days later for Raging Stallion in Menace. Of course, there are many other people who helped and encouraged me along the way. Steve is the most important man in my life now as my partner in life and in business.

What will give you an orgasm that makes you levitate?
Having sex for hours while filming a movie after saving up my load for several days before. Blowing a big load after that much anticipation rocks my world!

What fetish do you have that we might not see in your movies?
I am very much an exhibitionist. It may not be apparent in the movies because the viewer only sees me with whoever is on the screen, but the reality is that I am performing in front of everyone on the set and all the future viewers of the scene. That is one of the reasons I got into porn: to feed my fetish to have an audience.

You're going to direct a porn scene (you can be one of the models or not). Who's in the scene and what happens?
I do direct porn scenes! You can see my work at HardFriction.com. I come up with new scenes every month. The most important factor for me is good chemistry between guys.

If you could spend 24 hours doing anything you want with any person on the planet, whom would you choose and what would you do?
I would be with Steve in Fiji lying on a beach. We would meet a really hot guy, take him to our beach hut and film us all having sex. He would leave and Steve and I would have an amazing meal together watching the sunset, then we would curl up in our bed and go to sleep. Somehow, our cat would be there when we are sleeping and there would be a team of housekeepers to clean up our mess and secretly leave us fresh fluffy towels.

Share your weirdest come-on, either given by you or to you.
I once left at bar at closing time with my friend and shouted to the departing crowd, "If anyone wants to fuck me, follow us home!" I managed to bring seven guys!

What is the fastest way to get you into bed?
Put the bed on a stage!

Do sex partners (or potential sex partners) relate to you differently when they know you make porn films?
Probably. Pretty much everyone I have had sex with since I started this business has been on camera.

What is the biggest lie anyone ever told you, or you ever told someone else, in order to have sex?
Guys have told me they are single when they are not. I am pretty slutty, but I don’t want to break up any relationships.

What's the most unusual or fun thing you have ever had up your ass?
Lately it's Remy Delaine. Have you seen the curve in his cock?

What is it about a person's body that most makes you weak in the knees?
A big bubble butt makes me happy, but a giant cock makes my head swim!

Where is the most daring place you have ever had sex? What did you do there?
For the Raging Stallion movie, The Visitor, we filmed me showing Logan McCree how to fuck the bound and submissive Cole Streets in a bar in front of an audience.

At what age did you first watch porn?
I saw some pictures when I was 10 but didn’t see any movies until about 17.

When did you first have sex? Who with?
At 15 with my best friend on Halloween.

Is porn a career or a hobby for you right now? What will come next?
Porn is a career for me. In addition to being an exclusive performer for Raging Stallion, I am also the Art Director and a cinematographer. I design all of the sets and wardrobe and run the camera on many of the scenes. I have been also been performing and directing for HardFriction.com. This is my project with my partner, Steve Cruz. The site is an offshoot of Raging Stallion and is focused on new talent. I hope to be doing it as long as I can get guys out of their pants in front of my camera.

What is the perfect sexual encounter?
One with great sexual chemistry and enthusiasm!

Share something personal or amusing that reveals your human side.
I have no human side, I am only a sexual robot!

Which food makes you horny?
Tequila and Chocolate.

Is there masturbation after death?
The world after death will be so ecstatic that masturbation will seem lame.

Additional questions:

You started making porn at an age when most models have retired or moved behind the camera. What prompted that decision and did you have any misgivings going into it?
I started making porn when I was 40 and was surprised they let me do it! It has been a great experience so far and I feel like I am in the right place. I hope being a performer will help me be a better producer and director. I know I have a limited time in front of the camera and I hope I have the good sense to retire before my expiration date.

How did the concept for Hard Friction come about? How will you distinguish yourselves from the other jillion gay XXX websites?
Chris Ward and Pistol Media came to us with the idea to build a site around new talent. Steve and I are both performers and work behind the camera and were thrilled with the opportunity. Hard Friction is different than other sites because of the variety of guys on the site. We have a diversity of ages and ethnic backgrounds. Steve and I travel and film guys in whatever city we visit — London, Chicago, LA, Sydney, San Francisco, etc. Some of the content is filmed in the studio, some on the road and some is live on our web cam show.

You and Steve were recently in Australia to promote safe sex and shoot content for your site. What does promoting safe sex consist of? How can the adult industry promote a double standard whereby it's OK to insist on condoms in gay XXX but it's not OK in str8 XXX?
We believe strongly in promoting safer sex practices privately and with our work at Raging Stallion and Hard Friction. Condom use was standard and expected with my sex practices from the early '90s onward. I learned how to put them on and use them from the porn I was watching at the time. I am shocked about the slack attitude about condoms I have experienced in the past five years, both in the gay community and with individuals. When I was out of a seven-year relationship in 2005, I was surprised at how many guys in their 20s did not want to use condoms and would take someone’s word on his HIV status. Porn is where many guys learn about safer sex practices. Steve and I frequently film condoms going on cocks in our scenes. We want to eroticize the process. I may not always agree with what other studios are doing, but I will do what I can in my own work.

Are the gay barebacking producers truly minimizing risk by insisting on HIV testing and not pairing sero-discordant partners?

I really don’t believe that HIV testing proves a person is negative. I have personally heard models say they hooked up with someone the night before a scene. Sometimes the model was escorting, sometimes just wasted in a bar and picked someone up. They could easily contract something between the time they had their test and when they shot their scene. A test alone is not enough. In situations where you can't be sure, use a condom.
