FRIENDS:

I don’t limit my friends by race, age, looks or income. But there are two things I expect in all my relationships, friendship or otherwise. First and foremost is honesty. I don’t think that I can stress this enough. I’ve often said that I can forgive most anything except lying. Other shit, there is a possibility that we can work through it. But you lie to me, I don’t see how I can ever trust you again. In return I won’t lie to you. You’ll pretty much know where you stand with me. I have been called “pathologically honest” as well as “brutally honest.” My intention is not to hurt. I try to be diplomatic and considerate, but I won’t lie to you or for you. Second thing is respect. I don’t expect everyone to agree with me all the time. I wouldn’t even want that. How could I ever challenge myself to grow? But a certain amount of respect is due. You think I’m wrong? Well, hell. I’m willing to listen to a logical reason why. And if discussions of religion or politics leads to too much anger, than we’ll just have to agree not to discuss it with each other.
